A man was delivering a pizza to a house near Seven Mile Road and Gaylord Street when he was robbed by two men, Redford police say.  During the robbery one of the suspects was shot and later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Neighbors say they heard gun shots at approximately 10:45 p.m. Monday. They explain the commotion to Fox 2's Maurielle Lue.

"I heard three shots. They were very distinct. My wife thought they were firecrackers but I knew they were gunshots," Carl Krajniak says.

"I was upstairs with my daughter watching cartoons. I heard three shots so I grabbed her and just dropped to the floor. Next thing I know police were outside," Hassan Wilkins shares.

Redford police are still investigating the incident and therefore have only released minimal details at this time.

"I seen them taping off my house and then after, when I looked out my other window, I saw the body laying so it was clear what happened," Wilkins says.

"I seen enough of that years ago, I didn't need to look at it. I know what death is," Krajniak shares.

A woman walking home Monday night told Fox 2 she was stopped by two men in a car who asked her what time it was. She didn't recognize the men and says it felt suspicious to her. By the time she got to her front door - she had heard the shots.

"Pizza guy came and he was ambushed. Somebody tried to rob him, I guess, and they returned fire," Jamal Mosley explains. Mosley says his mother and sister live at the house the pizza man was delivering to. They believe the suspects, who do not live at the home, ordered the pizza to their house address and then waited for the delivery man to show up. The family was not home at the time of the incident so they were not involved, but now Mosley says they are too scared to stay there.

"She's scared to death. She don't even want to come back here," Mosley says.

If you heard or saw anything that could help police in their investigation contact the Redford Police Department.
