'Love Rehab' workouts

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Welcome to love rehab!

"Why would you hurt yourself even more? You've already been hurt," says Jo Piazza, a journalist and author. "Working out gives you the same endorphins that you feel when you're in a happy relationship. We want women to get out there and see a breakup as a new start instead of a dead end."

Piazza wrote the book "Love Rehab" and now she's created a love boot camp to help you detox from your ex.

"We do a lot of punching, a lot of kicking a lot of things for women to get their aggression and their anger out here, so they can go back out into the dating scene and project this aura of calm, Zen," she says.

The class plays empowering breakup songs and uses fitness chairs and overhead bungee system to sweat away the pain of a breakup.

"I had a lot of aggression inside and just pulling on the bungees and getting that aggression out really helped," Sadie Gillis says. She adds that these classes at ChaiseFitness have saved her since she broke up with her beau two months ago. She says the workouts are paying off.

"I did see my ex," Sadie says. "He did a double take when he saw me and I'm sure that he's pretty bummed that we broke up."

Love Rehab workouts are free.

They are also held at spin studio Flywheel and Barry's Bootcamp in the city.
