Hundreds Of Weapons Confiscated In Illegal Weapons Raid

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. -

A raid on a flea market leads to the arrests of five vendors, the Burlington County Sheriff's department reported. Weapons confiscated include hundreds of daggers, switchblade knives, metal knuckles, stiletto knives, dirks, high velocity slingshots, blackjack clubs, cestos, and other types of throwing blades.

"The unfortunate reality is that the primary purchasers of these weapons appear to be juveniles," said Sheriff Jean Stanfield. "Hopefully, these arrests send a message to those who deal in illegal weapons, as well as a warning to parents that they need to be more vigilant, to make sure their kids are not buying these things. Parents should know that, just because something is being sold, that doesn't mean it's legal."

All five vendors were charged with possession and sale of illegal weapons, which are fourth degree indictable offenses, says police.

The Springfield Police Department helped in this raid.
