JONESBORO, Ga. (AP) - Police south of Atlanta say they're investigating after two people were fatally shot just after answering their doors.

Authorities say one incident unfolded around 10 p.m. Saturday in Jonesboro, one victim was killed and a second was taken to the Atlanta Medical Center.

The second fatal shooting happened about half an hour later at a Motel 6 in Stockbridge - which is about eight miles east of Jonesboro.

Police say the victims at the motel were also robbed before the suspect fled the scene.

A detailed description of the suspect wasn't immediately available Sunday.
