A man is facing child abuse charges after police say he threw an 8-month-old baby across a room.
The child's mother told police Toriano Richardson came to her house late at night on Sunday, October 12th.
According to an affidavit, the woman told police she was asleep when her ex-boyfriend knocked on the door.
She says, Richardson told her to come to his mother's house to get their infant daughter who was asleep.
The affidavit says, Richardson started hitting the child's mother and tore her shirt.
The woman went to the baby's grandmother's house to pick the baby up. That's when police say, Richardson threw the baby across the room.
Both the woman and the baby were taken to the hospital.
Toriano Richardson is being held on 42,000 dollars bond and is charged with aggravated child abuse and domestic assault.
Richardson is scheduled to be in court Monday, October 21st.
