Ultimate Tailgate Experience: the sweet stuff

From elaborate cakes, to cupcakes and even a huge sugary concoction, Super Bowl tailgating just got a little sweeter.

Mauro Castano from Carlo's Bake Shop in New Jersey showed us some customized cakes he says are the perfect treat for tailgating.

"The thing about these desserts is there's a lot of this stuff you could just pick up and go at our stores, it's really all day every day," Castano said. "There's some stuff we could customize, but they're very easy to carry, they stay for a long time, they can stay out, even though it might be a little cold for the Super Bowl this year."

You can head to Carlo's to pick up footballs filled with chocolate mousse, cakes with your favorite team's logo, and customizable cookies. The treats range from about $4 to $45.

If you're feeling adventurous you can come to Sugar and Plumm Restaurant on the Upper West Side.

This is Earthquake in a Fishbowl -- it has butterscotch pudding, chocolate blackout cake, cheesecake, key lime pie, three kinds of ice cream and whipped cream.

"This is the perfect dessert because it's interactive, so you can have your friends help you with it, or your kids, there's something in it for everyone, whether you like sweets or chocolate, or peanut butter, there's something in it for everybody, so it will be a homerun or a touchdown no matter what's in it," Christina Rakitze said.

She said if you can't make it to Sugar and Plumm to pick up the dessert, you can make it at home by combining cake, pudding, ice cream and whipped cream in a bowl, or football helmet.

Next up? We're at Sprinkles Cupcakes where they have customizable football cupcakes for that special Super Bowl party with different football decorations, different colored stars, colored dots if people want to do team colors, team names, and more.

Sprinkles says these cupcakes are the perfect sweet accompaniment to those salty burgers and fries.
