PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say a teenager has been arrested in Canada for allegedly threatening Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his family for the second time.

Sheriff's officials say the 16-year-old boy was taken into custody Tuesday night by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Alberta.

The teen's name wasn't immediately released.

Canadian investigators questioned the teen in July after he allegedly threatened to bomb Arpaio's house and "murder you and your whole family."

Sheriff's officials say another threat was received Sunday in which the juvenile claimed to be in Phoenix and allegedly planning to burn down Arpaio's home.

According to MCSO, his threat read:

Greetings, Sheri Joe. It's been a while since I last emailed you. I really hate you.
I hate you so much that I've decided enough is enough. You deliberately ruin peoples lives, and embarrass the inmates that you confine. Tonight however, it is you that will be confined... for life. I am stationed at an undisclosed location in Phoenix.  Within the next 5 hours I am going to open fire and destroy you, your house, your "security deputies" and your ugly as hell wife. Still think I'm a "lowlife who doesn't have the guts to confront you?" I'm not scared of you, the RCMP or your pathetic Special Response Team. You will never be heard from again. Your body will simply "vanish."
I highly advise you to take this threat seriously and stop me. Your life depends on it. I will continue this until I am put in jail. But that will never happen. Heh Heh.

The 81-year-old Arpaio is serving his sixth consecutive term as sheriff of Arizona's most populous county.

America's self-proclaimed toughest sheriff is known for jailing inmates in tents and making prisoners wear pink underwear.
