SOUTH MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Police shooting suspect Aaron Dumas had been accused of violence and arson, according Shelby County Court records.

Now those past charges seem to point to Dumas' recent dangerous outbursts.

Police said the 32-year-old started a fire inside his cousin's house after barricading himself inside when police arrived to serve him two warrants for attempted first degree murder.

Almost a year ago, Dumas was accused of setting fire to personal property but that case was disposed of in April.

Dumas is accused of having a violent streak as two protect orders were filed against him in 2009 and 2012 but both were apparently dropped. There was a new one pending from Angelique White, according to her father William White.

"He had been told to stay away from the house because there was some sort of restraining order that was going to be in effect," William White told FOX13 News.

Police say Dumas tried to kill both of White's children, Angelique and her brother Christopher, Oct. 7.

"My daughter was shot in the stomach multiple times," White said. "She was shot in the hand. She will have some mobility issues because one of the bullets grazed her spine. My son was shot multiple times in the stomach, once in the back and once in the buttocks."

White didn't seem surprised Dumas shot two officers in the leg. The first officer shot when tried to serve an arrest warrant for attempted first degree murder of White's two children.

"He should have immediately handed himself in but because of the type of individual that he is and being a coward that he is, he did in order to survive," White said.

Angelique and Christopher White are out of ICU and in stable condition at The MED.
