MEMPHIS, Tenn. -

The University of Memphis and police services issued a warning thru their safety alert system.

Around 9:30 PM Monday, October 14, 2013 an off campus robbery was reported to the University police.  A male armed with an unknown style handgun took personal items from two men who were walking on Southern Avenue, west of Patterson.  No one was injured. The male responsible was described as being in his mid to late twenties, approximately 6 feet tall, medium complexion, slim to muscular build, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark running shorts.  He was last seen running south on Patterson at Spottswood.  No further description is available at this time.
