CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
There's a very different kind of Starbucks on the corner of Devon and Broadway on the North Side. Good Day Chicago bets you've never seen one like this before.
The "modern modular store" is hip, green and first one to hit Chicago.
"It's different [than] what I'm accustomed to in the city," one customer said. "This is different. It's new. It takes some getting used to, obviously."
Starbucks is taking a different approach with this drive-through and walk-up store. It's made entirely of recycled shipping containers, intended to accentuate the company's sustainable, environmentally conscious beliefs.
"That's awesome. That is cool. That's cool," another customer said. "I didn't even know that. I was just anticipating waiting for this to be finished because this is cool."
The Edgewater Starbucks of the sixth of its kind in the country, a small fraction of the 19,00 the chain has throughout the world.
The grand opening will take place from 12-3 p.m. on Tuesday.
