NORTHEAST MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Police are searching for a young man who stole an undetermined amount of cash Friday from the First Tennessee bank branch inside a Kroger grocery store on Highway 64.

Surveillance imagery captured after the heist showed a white man, approximately 25-30 years of age with a medium build, wearing a khaki and black fedora hat, black sunglasses, a gray/black/blue sweater, and gray pants walk into the Kroger grocery store at 9025 US Highway 64.

According to witnesses, the unidentified man walked up to the counter of First Tennessee Bank inside the grocery store, and presented the bank teller with a note demanding $3,000 in large bills with no dye packs. The teller told police the suspect then pulled up his short and brandished a handgun.

After being given an undermined amount of cash he left the grocery store in an unknown direction.

The suspect was also armed with a silver handgun, police added.

If you recognize this man you are urged to call CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH.
