Hall County residents concerned about 3 bears perched in tree

HALL COUNTY, Ga. -

Three bears perched in a tree are worrying some residents in Gainesville, Ga.

Ricky Humphries said he first spotted the mother bear and her two cubs in a tree off of Leach Circle on Monday morning. He said that animal control and Georgia Department of Natural Resources officials told him that they couldn't do anything about the furry creatures. He said officials told him "just leave them alone and they will go away eventually."

Brianna Johnson said she was nervous about her dog.

"My dog, he was down there tangled and the momma was still down there , so I didn't want to go outside and get him in the house, so I waited until she got in the tree," Johnson said.

The bears remained about 60 feet up in the tree as of Monday night.
