The 2013 Signature Chefs Auction is being held Thursday November 7, 2013 at the Henry Hotel in Dearborn, Michigan.

Fox 2's Roop Raj will emcee the event at the Henry Hotel is located at 300 Town Center right off of the Southfield Freeway service drive. Festivities begin at 5:30p and will go until 9p.

Proceeds raised from the 2013 Signature Chefs Auction will support March of Dimes efforts to improve the life of babies through advocacy, outreach, vaccines, and breakthroughs.
SOUTHFIELD, MI - Metro Detroit's hottest chefs are turning up the heat at this year's 2013 Signature Chef Auction, an annual event to benefit the March of Dimes. This year, the event will celebrate the March of Dimes 75 years of saving babies. Steve Allen, executive chef and owner of Steve and Rocky's, as well as lead chef for the event, welcomes back restaurant supporters that include Steve and Rocky's, Forest Grill, Kruse and Muer, Toasted Oak, TRIA, Rojo Mexican Bistro, Slows Bar BQ and is proud to welcome new establishments to his all-star roster including Torino, Rodin, Ocean Prime and The Meeting House.
Guests attending the event will enjoy decadent tastes from the executive chefs of these restaurants as well as the chance to bid on stellar silent auction items, including travel opportunities, one-of-a-kind culinary experiences, and other fantastic encounters.
During the evening, the March of Dimes honors an outstanding individual in the community with The John Dingell Hero for Babies Award.
At this year's event, the award will be presented to philanthropist and legendary radio voice, Frank Beckmann. Beckmann's voice is synonymous with University of Michigan football games for the past 33 years. He is also a driving force behind the line up on WJR 760-AM, as he is heard on weekdays from 9a to noon. Beckmann was honored by the Michigan Association of Broadcast numerous times for The Best Midday Show award. In 2008, he was elected to the Michigan Sports Hall of fame. Beckmann was also awarded the Ty Tyson Award in Excellence in Sports Broadcasting. Beckmann has helped raise tens of millions of dollars for charitable causes including March of Dimes, C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, the Autism Alliance of Michigan and Kali's Cure for Paralysis, among numerous others.
Another new addition to the program this year will be Fox 2's Roop Raj, who will emcee the event. Raj is also a longtime supporter of the March of Dimes, having hosted the March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction in New Orleans for several years.
The March of Dimes is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Founded in 1938, the March of Dimes funds programs of research , community services, education and advocacy to save babies and in 2003 launched a campaign to address the increasing rate of premature birth.
