GLENDALE, Ariz. -

It's been 2 years since anyone has seen this little girl.

October 11, 2011 was the day 5-year-old Jhessye Shockley was reported missing by her mother.

Shockley disappeared from her apartment near 45th Avenue and Glendale.

In the days that followed, an amber alert was issued and hundreds of people canvassed the city looking for any signs of her.

More than a month later, Shockley's mother Jerice Hunter would be arrested on charges of child abuse. But those charges were later dropped.

Detectives believe little Jhessye was killed and her body dumped in a Tempe trash bin. They spent weeks searching an east valley landfill for any trace of her remains, but come up empty.

Jerice hunter would be arrested again in September of last year and charged with the murder of her daughter.

Her trial begins next august. She's due back in court in December.
