SEBASTIAN COUNTY, Ark. (FOX13) -

*UPDATE 6:30 p.m.* Sebastian, Ark., County Sheriff's Office confirms to FOX13 News they have inactivated Morgan Nick Amber Alert for 5-year-old Quinn Whitsitt. Child was found safe in New Mexico.

NEWS RELEASE ON CANCELLATION OF AMBERT ALERT FROM SEBASTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE:

On this date the SCSO was notified at around 6:30 am was notified that a 5 year old boy was missing from his home off of Carter Street in Central City.

First responders rushed to the scene as well as investigators and Search and Rescue personnel.  The immediate area was searched for the missing child.  

The child, Quinn Whitsitt, lived with his grandparents.  The child was last seen at around 1:00 am in his bed asleep.  At around 6:00 am the grandparents went to check on the child and the child was missing from his bed.  

The Sebastian County Sheriff's Office, the FBI, U.S. Marshal's Service, and the Arkansas State Police began a full out investigation.  Officers were also on the scene from the Arkansas Highway Police, the Lavaca PD, the Barling PD, the Central City PD, the Fort Smith PD, and the Alma PD arrived and began to assist.  Also assisting with the investigation was the Greenwood PD, the Sallisaw PD, the Crawford County SO, and the Franklin County.  Search and Rescue teams began to cover the area searching from the ground the air.  

Investigative leads continued to be developed in reference to the missing child.  It was believed Rainy Whitsitt, biological mother of Quinn, might be involved in the disappearance. Rainy has been living in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area.  The FBI in New Mexico began efforts to locate Rainy.  

At around 4:30 this evening FBI in New Mexico reported that they had Rainy and Quinn.  SCSO investigators are getting warrants for Rainy for burglary and kidnapping. Agents on surveillance at Rainy's address in New Mexico saw the silver Ford belonging to Rainy pull up to the home.  They were able to see a female matching Rainy's description and a small child matching Quinn's description enter the home.  A few moments later the two were seen getting in the silver Ford and the vehicle left the residence.  About a mile from the home the vehicle was stopped and Quinn was recovered.
