DOWNTOWN MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

The Clifford Davis/Odell Horton Federal Building in Downtown Memphis was evacuated for about an hour Wednesday afternoon due to a reported bomb threat, Memphis Police said.

Just before 4 p.m. police said they gave the all clear.

The Main Street Mall, MATA trolley line, Poplar Avenue from Front Street to Second Street were closed to pedestrians and traffic while authorities investigated the bomb threat.

City Hall next door to the federal building was cleared as a precaution and police had people move further away from Main Street Mall.

According to Memphis Police, no bomb has been located. The building was evacuated as a precautionary measure.

According to police a bag with clothing and boots belonging to a janitor was found during their search. As well, police confirm a letter was delivered recently stating a bomb would go off within 48 hours.

Employees and visitors at the Clifford Davis/Odell Horton Federal Building in Downtown Memphis have been evacuated due to a reported bomb threat, Memphis Police said.

According to FOX13 News reporter police have cleared city hall as well as a precaution and had people move further away from Main Street Mall.

According to Memphis Police, no bomb has been located. The building was evacuated as a precautionary measure.

U.S. Marshals who are normally inside the federal building are outside and staged at each corner of the federal building.
