A Shelby County deputy jailer finds himself in trouble after being arrested on assault charges.
Police say Gerald Holliman hit a man in the head with a bottle back in September.
The victim suffered cuts to his head and a concussion.
Holliman was arrested Saturday morning and released. He is now charged with aggravated assault.
The Shelby County Sheriff's office says Holliman was the commander of the jail gang unit. He has been relieved of duty pending an investigation.
