NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - A vehicle traveling towards New Jersey across the Outerbridge Crossing had to be escorted by police off the span after debris smashed through a portion of the front window.

Several police vehicles and an ambulance met the vehicle on the side of the road just off the bridge in Perth Amboy, New Jersey.

A woman could be seen standing outside the vehicle speaking with police.

A large hole could also be seen in the top, left portion of the front windshield.

It is not clear what landed on the vehicle at about 7:35 a.m. on Friday.
