PHILADELPHIA -

A person was struck by a SEPTA train and killed Thursday morning in the Somerton section of Northeast Philadelphia.

The incident occurred around 11:40 a.m. near the 100 block of Byberry Road, in the area of the Forest Hills train station.

SEPTA initially reported that service on West Trenton's Regional Rail line was suspended, and alternate service suggestions were available at: http://septa.org/stations/rail/stations.shtml.

Around 12:15 p.m. came word that service had resumed, but commuters should expect delays of 30 minutes or more, and all trains will board on the outbound platforms from the Neshaminy Falls to Jenkintown stations due to single-track operation.
