Cops: Paramedic robbed victims

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

An upstate paramedic is facing felony charges after being arrested for stealing from victims he was called to help.

German A. Lobaton, 48, of Spring Glen was arrested on Wednesday by the New York State Police.

Police say that Lobaton, a paramedic with the Ellenville Rescue Squad and several ambulance agencies throughout the Hudson Valley, was found in possession of stolen property from several of the homes to which he responded as a paramedic.

Lobaton faces felony burglary, stolen property and weapons charges.

Lobaton was arraigned and sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 secured bond.

The investigation continues and and anyone with information is asked to call the New York State Police at 845-626-2800.

Lobaton was scheduled to reappear in court on Thursday.
