DOWNTOWN MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Memphis Police have identified the body found Saturday afternoon in the Mississippi River.

Police say it is Bone Leang.  Leang, a fisherman, went missing Sunday September 15th after he fell into the river near Shelby Forest National Park.

Deputies say, Leang didn't know how to swim and the river has a strong undercurrent and deputies believe he got pulled under.

Police say a boater found the body Saturday afternoon along the banks of the river near Harbor Town.  FOX13 News talked with the man who found the body.

Shane Burton says he was having problems with his boat.  When he stopped to fix the boat, he found the body.

There were six people on the boat at the time, including two teens who saw the decomposing body.

When asked how the teens were doing, Burton said, "They are terrible.  Could you imagine seeing a dead body?"
