MEMPHIS, Tenn. -
The Ridgeway Vigil shooter is charged with attempted murder after shooting his victim 5 times. Police is say it happened at a vigil for Ridgeway High School basketball player Dennis Price who died earlier this week. Chip Washington, the shelby county sheriff's spokesperson, says near the end of the vigil, 24 year old Monique Smith pulled into the parking when 29 year old Vernon Walton, pulled in behind her, got out of his car and shot her two times through the drivers side window. Washington says Walton then went to the passengers side, opened the door and shot her several more times.
