Lifeblood is asking anyone who can to roll up their sleeves and donate blood.
There is a critical blood shortage in Memphis. Blood donated from volunteer donors will go to support local hospitals and trauma centers in need.
That is why blood drives like one that was held Friday are so important. The blood drive was in honor of Madison Hargrove who died from sickle cell disease. Patients with sickle cell need regular blood transfusions.
The process to donate blood is simple and takes less than an hour. A donor must be at least 16 years of age, weigh at least 115 pounds and is in relatively good health.
