Commissioner Bunker elected as Lakeland's new mayor

SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Voters have spoken and have elected Shelby County Commissioner Wyatt Bunker as their new mayor, ousting incumbent Scott Carmichael.

With 99 percent of the vote counted, Bunker is the unofficial winner with 63 percent of the vote total. He received almost 1,300 votes in his favor.

Carmichael the incumbent has only 25 percent of the vote with 99 percent of vote counted.

Former Lakeland mayor Jim Bomprezzi trails significantly with barely 12 percent of the vote.

In Arlington voters were casting ballots for alderman.

Preliminary results show Oscar Brooks leading Brian Groves with 53-percent of the vote. Harry McKee is leading Joshua Fox with 63-percent of the vote.

Brian Thompson is ahead of Larry Harmon with 54-percent of the vote.

Combined unofficial results reported by Shelby County Election Commission website at 9:40 p.m. with 100% of the precincts reporting.
