A teenager is now a model for Wet Seal after a Facebook campaign went viral.

Karrie Brown, 17, has Down Syndrome but isn't letting her condition stop her. Karrie's career started with a Facebook post by her mother, Sue.

Sue posted a picture of Karrie on Facebook on her first day of school, according to KMOV. Sue's friends and other parents of kids with Down Syndrome began asking where Karrie got her outfit. Sue told them that Wet Seal had just come out with a line for curvier girls. She also shared with them how it was Karrie's dream to one day be a model for the clothing company.

After much urging, Sue created a Facebook page called, Karrie Brown – Modeling the Future. It didn't take long for Wet Seal to hear about the page. The company, a young women's clothing retailer headquartered in Foothill Ranch, California, promised to give Karrie a surprise if the page received 10,000 likes by Friday, the 30th of August. Well, the page got 11,000 likes by Thursday, according to KMOV.

The page currently has more than 18,000 likes. Wet Seal made good on their promise and flew Karrie and her family out to California for a photo shoot.

"I was told by this geneticist to never expect anything from her," Sue told KMOV. "She comes to life when the camera is on her…"

In addition to shining on camera, Karrie's mom Sue tells FOX 29 that Karrie is on the honor roll at her high school. She also volunteers for the Kohl's Cares and the community YMCA day camp during the summers, helping with the younger kids.

"I feel it's very important for Karrie to know she has a lot to offer to others," Sue tells FOX 29.
