CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

America may never see gas prices below $3 a gallon again. Gas prices have stayed above the $3 mark for 1,000 straight days.

AAA says that has never happened before. The current streak began in December of 2010.

Today, the national average for a gallon of regular is $3.52.

Financial analyst Phil Flynn joined Good Day Chicago to explain why this might be happening, what can be done about the new norm regarding the price of gas and how this change will impact your finances.
