Meek Mill Back In Court For Etiquette Class Follow-Up

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Local rapper Meek Mill was back in court Friday for a follow-up to his etiquette classes.

The judge ordered Meek Mill, whose legal name is Robert Williams, to take the class over the summer.

She said his behavior in the courtroom, and out on the streets, was unacceptable.

He was ordered to take classes in May, but by late June had yet to complete them, so the court assisted him with finding a proper class.

Only FOX 29 News cameras were there when the assistant district attorney left court and told us how Meek Mill was doing.

"There was more of a turnaround for him in court today with a little bit more of a respect level," A.D.A. Noel Ann DeSantis said. "In the courtroom, he's Robert Williams. He's not Meek Mill."

We're told that the school created a special program for Mill that included: a phone interview; a 119-page workbook that consisted of training in requirements to meet prior to traveling, such as impression management, international protocol and consideration of others; and a four-hour in-person session.

The judge anticipated more than one session and requested continuing follow-ups, along with continued emails and calls to his parole officer.

The 26-year-old rapper is on probation after being found guilty of drug dealing and gun possession in 2009.

FOX 29 News is told that Meek has indicated to officials that he wishes to move to Miami with family and child, he is seldom in Philly and he wants to be done with these troubles. His schedule will not allow him to be back in town until November.

The 26-year-old says he runs 15 businesses, including an endorsement label with a liquor company and a record company, in addition to his record deal.

His next court date will be in January.
