Mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner got into a tense argument with a man inside a bakery in Brooklyn on Wednesday, according to a video posted on YouTube.
Weiner, a Democrat, made a campaign stop in Borough Park. As he was leaving the bakery, a man inside insulted him. According to a video released by the Weiner campaign, the man called Weiner a "scumbag" and made reference to Weiner being married to "an Arab." (Weiner's wife, Huma Abedin, was born in Michigan to an Indian father and Pakistani mother.)
"Charming, charming," Weiner responded. "Yeah, takes one to know one, jackass."
That was the beginning of a heated exchange between the two in which they spoke over each other. The man said Weiner's behavior was deviant, referring to the former congressman's sexting and Twitter scandals.
Weiner told the man that only God should judge him.
"And you're perfect? You're going to judge me?" Weiner said.
"No, I'm not running for office, though," the man said. "I'm not out there in the public… What you did was disgusting, it's immoral… Think about your wife."
