A court ordered ‘public shaming' in Cleveland

Posted: Updated:

Richard Dameron was found him guilty of threatening to kill a police officer after a boozed-up phone call to 9-1-1. So he spent his Labor Day standing in front of the Cleveland District police headquarters wearing a sign calling himself an idiot.

He said he has had enough humiliation for one day, "I hope that Officer Simone and his family take my apology because I was drunk. I was running off at the mouth and I apologize from deep down. And I don't want no repercussions coming back on it because of all this. I just want it to be over with and done."

His punishment isn't over yet. Dameron will have to wear this sign three hours a day for the rest of the week.
