Memphis, Tenn. – The Bolton High School Drama Department is set to kick off its fall season this week with its production of the popular comedy, Greater Tuna. It's more than the average debut for this year's cast at Stagelight Theater, as the school aims to support the Mid-South Food Bank.

The show runs September 5-8, and tickets are half-priced, $5, for anyone who brings two non-perishable food items, such as a couple cans of tuna.

Director Jeff White decided to promote the play as a food drive over the summer when the production team started work. He was interested in giving back to the community, but the consideration was also a personal tribute to his late wife, Alicia Morales White, who worked as donor relations manager at the food bank.

School-wide response for the food drive has been great. Students in Bolton's International Baccalaureate program helped organize the collection, and after the last curtain call this week, students will compete in a two-week food drive.

To reserve seats, call 773-8150, ext. 242. Show times are 7 p.m. daily, and the Sunday matinee starts at 2 p.m.
