A new class of future doctors are in the making at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis.
This year's class of 165 students recently celebrated their White Coat Ceremony, which starts their career in medicine. Family and UT faculty witness the ceremony.
The first white coat is shorter than the one they will get as licensed doctors and must be worn whenever they come in contact with patients.
From this point it's another seven to eight years of study, and training before they become doctors. This UT class starts under the first phase of America's new health care plan, referred to as Obamacare. Their classes will include lessons on how to navigate the universal health care waters.
