17 year old Christopher Sowell was arraigned on first degree murder charges today. He remains in jail on a $2-million dollar bond, and has another court appearance set for September 26th.
Both Sowell's parents and Jessica Williams parents were in court, both sets were observed crying.

According to the affidavit, sheriff's deputies had information that led them to Sowell's house. They got permission from his parents to interview Christopher. They read him his rights, and he confessed to killing the 11-year-old.
Sowell gave a detailed statement that Jessica approached him, and for some reason, she made him angry. He pushed her off the bridge, onto some pavement. She got up and told him she was going to tell her father what he did. Sowell says he grabbed her by the throat and started to choke her "until she got wide eyed", then he pushed her into the water.

The sheriff told FOX13's Sarah Bleau that the 17-year-old did not know they were looking for him in connection with Jessica Williams murder.
Cook says the teen was 1 of Jessica's neighbors. He is expected to be arraigned on Thursday afternoon on a first-degree murder charge.

Jessica Williams went missing Tuesday night and her body was found in a ditch about five miles from her house. Her father told the sheriff's office and FOX13 his daughter went missing after she was playing outside her home.
