Orchard Lake, Mich. (WJBK) -

A family of four from Orchard Lake has gone missing. Authorities believe they are in the area of Sleeping Bear National Park.

The father is 50-years old; two daughters are aged 14 and 10, and a son is 9-years old.

A search is underway, and so far the father's car, a silver BMW, has been found parked at the Coast Guard Maritime Heritage Museum at Sleeping Bear Dunes. Some reports say 'unusual things' were found in the car, but Fox 2 has no word on what these items are exactly.

Parts of the Sleeping Bear Lakeshore National Park were shut down during today's search. Police learned of the missing family Sunday night. Park rangers, sheriff's deputies and crews from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, state police and the Coast Guard are searching the park. The man's wife is also at the scene.
