When you think a drink is on tap, you immediately think of draft beer. But how about wine?
Wine on tap that's popular in other cities across the country has finally landed in the Mid-South, in the Cooper-Young district of midtown Memphis.
Say hello to Greencork, the creative idea from mother-daughter owners Robin Brown and Katy Sloan.
"We went into The Wine Room, which is in Winter Park, and they have 150 bottles in similar dispensers in their store," said Brown. "It was so exciting. We just loved the concept and though this would work in Memphis."

Brown and Sloan hope that self-service wine dispensers that are pay by the ounce will make wine fun, accessible, and less intimidating.
"We are very exited to bring this to Memphis in a self-serve fashion," said Katy Sloan, daughter. "We wanted to de-mystify wine."
Greencork, located next to Goner Records, hopes to be open by mid-September in time for the Cooper-Young Fest. It will initially feature 32 wines on tap from self-service dispensers.
You'll receive a wine card, insert it into the machine, and dispense a 2-ounce., 4-ounce, or 6-ounce glass of wine.
Consider Greencork like YoLo frozen yogurt, but wine on tap.
