Hope House, an organization dedicated to helping families impacted by HIV, is in need of assistance after thieves stole the center's lawncare equipment.
The pre-school and social services agency helps children and families in the Memphis area who are impacted by HIV and poverty.
As volunteers showed up to cut the grass on Tuesday they found out Hope House's lawn mower, two weed-eaters, a couple of leaf blowers and their rakes were missing, believed to be stolen.
"Hope House is a special place for our kids and part of that is keeping a clean, comfortable environment," said Craig Locke, director of development for Hope House.
"We have always depended on our volunteers for help to keep our grounds clean and today it was just kind of shocking we weren't able to get that done.
Locke and the staff at Hope House are asking for donations of new lawncare equipment. You can reach Hope House at 901-272-2702.
