DOWNTOWN MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

There are clear signs the economy is recovering. Even though, many homeowners find themselves still struggling.

The Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America is offering free help for Mid-South homeowners Aug. 22-26 at the Cook Convention Center in Downtown Memphis.

Their goal is to help struggling homeowners adjust their payments and mortgages to avoid foreclosure and keep their homes affordable.

"We have every major bank in the country here," said Darren Duarte of NACA. "If we can document and verify that your mortgage is unaffordable, we can go as low as a two percent interest rate to help people."

Duarte also says they can even help homeowners who are behind on their payments or are looking to buy their first home but have been turned down before.
