Vandals Torch Car With Road Flare

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

A case of car vandalism out of Philadelphia's Port Richmond section will leave you stunned. Surveillance cameras caught two suspects breaking the window of a Dodge Charger on Clementine Street, before one of them threw a road flare inside. It happened early Friday morning.

Victor Martinez said he found the damage when a neighbor told him his window was damaged. He opened the back door to find the interior charred with a hole burnt into the ground and several wires exposed.

"When I opened it up it's like somebody stabbed a knife in my gut," he said.

It was his camera that caught the suspects in action. He turned the video over to Philadelphia Police.

It's not clear if the vandals have hit other vehicles in the area, and Martinez believes it's a random attack.

"I have no enemies, man. Nobody has enemies around here. This is a quiet neighborhood," says Martinez.

Police say the incident is under investigation.
