Bartlett teacher indicted

BARTLETT, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Clancey Patterson has been arrested after being indicted on charges of official oppression (7 counts), official misconduct (7 counts), child abuse (2 counts), and simple assault (5 counts).

The charges stem from allegations of a simple assault that was reported to the The Department of Child Services and the Bartlett Police Department in April 2013.

Patterson was working as a special education teacher for Bon Lin Elementary at the time the allegations were reported.

The victims were all children that attended the elementary school and were entrusted to Patterson according to BPD.

Patterson is at the Shelby County Jail East Women's Facility.

This is the only information that will be released by Bartlett Police Department at this time due the serious and sensitive nature of the case.
