LAWRENCE, N.J. (AP) - Two young children and a woman were killed when the sport utility vehicle they were riding in and a tractor-trailer collided on a central New Jersey highway.

A man driving the SUV and a girl riding in the vehicle were also hurt in the accident, which occurred around 6:30 p.m. Friday in the southbound lanes of the Brunswick Pike (Business Route 1) in Lawrence. Authorities were trying to determine whether the five people in the SUV were related.

Authorities tell The Times of Trenton  that the truck driver was taken into custody. But it was not known Saturday if the truck driver was hurt in the crash or whether any charges had been filed.
