Women steal credit card, go on $8K shopping spree

EAST MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Memphis Police are seeking the identity of two women captured on surveillance video who they say stole a credit card out of a purse from a woman in a restaurant and went on an $8,000 shopping spree.

The theft took place July 7 just before 3 p.m. at the Panera Bread restaurant at 5865 Poplar Ave., in the Laurelwood Shopping Center in East Memphis. The two women, described by police as white females ranging in age between 25-35, stole the female's credit card from her wallet while the victim was dining.

The pair then racked up $8,000 at a nearby store. Both females are approximately 5-foot-5 in height with heavy builds. One suspect was wearing a pink shirt and black shorts while the second suspect was wearing a blue shirt and gray shorts.
