Legal expert on seating an impartial jury for Sneiderman

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

Day 2 of jury selection in the Andrea Sneiderman trial, a constant hot topic in local headlines for three years, got underway Tuesday. Already several people have been excused from the expansive pool of potential jurors at the DeKalb County Courthouse.

A widespread concern, if not curiosity, is whether or not Sneiderman can receive a fair trial? Can a truly impartial, unbiased jury be seated after remarkable media coverage of the case?

Sneiderman currently faces a 13-count indictment stemming from allegations that she and her former boss, Hemy Neuman, conspired to kill her husband, Rusty Sneiderman.

A jury has since found Neuman guilty of killing Mr. Sneiderman. In 2010, the latter was gunned down in the parking lot of a Dunwoody daycare center, just moments after he dropped off his young son.

Now, Andrea Sneiderman will stand trial. One of the most critical stages is taking place at this moment. To discuss the process and the challenge of choosing impartial jurors for a high-profile case, criminal defense and family law attorney Jenny Meyers brought her expertise to Good Day Atlanta.
