Pa. Turnpike Tolls To Increase As Much As 12 Percent Next Year

HARRISBURG, Pa. -

Next year, tolls on the Pennsylvania Turnpike will go up again.

On Monday, the turnpike commission said it approved increases of 12 percent for cash-paying drivers and 2-percent for E-ZPass users.

Turnpike officials say E-ZPass users are charged less because the electronic tolls are cheaper and faster than paying a toll collector.

The 2014 toll boost will be the sixth-straight increase in as many years.
