Go to any big box store and you will find just about everything you could possible want in the way of school supplies but with each grade and each school and each teachers the required school supplies list is different.
We ran into Amy Eikner, mother of two, out shopping for school supplies.
She says her older son was always given a list of the supplies he needed and she would then write a check and give it to the school; but not anymore.
What they do now is post lists of everything each student needs and then the parents go out to hunt down all the right stuff.
With tax free week coming up this weekend, do you start looking for school supplies now while there are plenty or do you wait to get the price break?
Amy Eikner says she is a little afraid to wait. If you do, you could stand in line and in the end not get everything you need. Also, if you don't have all the right stuff then the kids can get in trouble.
Back in the day when I was in the primary grades, I showed up with a Big Chief Tablet and three Number 2 pencils and I was good to go. My mom was happy, my teachers were happy, and I was!
