FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz. -

A Fountain Hills woman was beaten, tied up, and threatened while her home was robbed Monday morning, and the suspect is still out there.

This all started around 8 a.m. Monday after the woman returned home from a workout.

When she entered the home, she found a man inside.  According to authorities, the suspect hit the woman and tied her up.

The suspect stole items from the house, then threatened the victim and fled the scene near Shea and Sahuaro Boulevards.

About 25 minutes later, two men came to the house -- the victim's son and her son-in-law, who happens to be a Glendale police officer.  They immediately got in touch with the Maricopa County Sheriff's office.

A neighbor described the victim's call for help.

"Come over right away, I've been mugged and robbed.  And we went over there as fast as we could... she was in the yard, she was pretty bloody."

The victim's nose was broken in two places. Her daughter is angry.

"All I will say is I am appalled and disgusted and I hate the person who did this. And I do not use the word hate but for somebody to do what he did to my mother and for what, a couple of bucks?" says Shannon Martinson.

The victim will need to get reconstructive surgery on her face, but the emotional wounds may take longer to heal.

Meanwhile, the search continues for a Hispanic male in his 30s, described as clean shaven with black hair, 5' 8" tall and 160 pounds.  At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black shirt and black shorts.

If you have any information about this case, call the Maricopa County Sheriff's office at (602) 976-1011 or Silent Witness at (480) WITNESS.  You can remain anonymous and receive a cash award for tips leading to an arrest or indictment.
