Former Shelby County Sheriff's Deputy Heather Westling is being held on $500,000 bond for making threats.

The 24-year-old Westling is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of retaliation against a juror or witness. She resigned May 14 and two days later two SCSO deputies responded to her apartment for a possible suicide attempt.

The deputies say Westling threatened them with a knife. She was later committed into the Memphis Mental Health Institute.

A few months later on July 9, Westling was pulled over for speeding. During the traffic stop she told the officer that she wasn't going to slow down and that she had a gun in her car. Westling also told the officer she was waiting for the right officer to pull her over so she could mess them up to show them how much they messed her up.

Westling was again committed to the mental health institute.
