Shelby County Sheriff's deputies, with the assistance of Olive Branch Police, arrested a man after a brief 8-minute pursuit over the state line Wednesday afternoon.
The chase started in Shelby County at around 2:20 p.m. and ended after police cornered Derrick Rogers near Center Hill and Johnson roads in Olive Branch.
Speeds reached in excess of 100 mph with police and Rogers, who was in a white Mustang.
Rogers was wanted on several theft of property charges out of Collierville, Bartlett and Southaven, said SCSO spokesman Chip Washington. Rogers was also evading arrest.
Washington said SCSO SWAT members were searching for the 42-year-old near Hacks Cross and Parkmont Drive. The suspect was initially stopped by deputies but fled in his Mustang. He rammed a sheriff's vehicle upon fleeing.
As the police were boxing in Rogers in Olive Branch, the suspect rammed a second SCSO vehicle.
There were no reported injuries. He is in custody at the DeSoto County jail in Hernando on felony charges. Additional charges are pending.
