DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. -

A break in the case of a man – a mechanic, a father and a husband – found stabbed to death inside of his home in Douglasville in June. Deputies say one of his neighbors may have taken his life.

Authorities booked 32-year-old  Sahara Fakhir into jail for stabbing 66-year-old Jerry Wheeler, a beloved local businessman,  to death at his home on Chattahoochee Drive.

Fakhir lived just a few houses away from Wheeler. Now, she's expected to be charged with murder. Her motive for the crime, however, remains a mystery.

Wheeler was the co-owner of Lee Road Auto Service and the father of a Douglas County deputy. His business partner says he, like much of the Douglasville community, is still shocked by the violent crime.

Mike Mullins said, "I don't know that he had any enemies. That's what's so hard to try to fathom what's happened. He was not the kind of person to make somebody mad enough to do this to him."

Mullins, a mechanic at Lee Road Auto Service and Wheeler's golfing buddy, says he's prayed an arrest would be made soon.

"It's great to have that many friends that are concerned with you, concerned with Jerry....It's still hard to think about," he said.

Detectives say they're still trying to piece together a motive.

Fakhir is scheduled to go before a Douglas County judge about 11 a.m. Thursday.
