Governor Andrew Cuomo has signed legislation authorizing the funding of breast cancer mapping.

This will provide an opportunity to advance understanding of the geographic variations in cancer incidence in New York, according to sponsors.

The measure amends the 1997 law authorizing state health officials to solicit applications from public and private agencies for grants to support education and funding with a focus on the causes, prevention, screening treatment and cure of breast cancer.
