After a brief standoff with Southaven Police officers, Martavious Hinds was arrested for a shooting that occurred Sunday, July 7, in Horn Lake, police said.
The 24-year-old Southaven man was transferred to the DeSoto County jail and charged with aggravated assault use of a deadly weapon. The court set Hinds' bond at $500,000. He also had a contempt of court warrant out for his arrest that contained a "no bond."
Charges have not been filed against Hinds after his standoff with police, though Southaven Police did charge the man with possession of paraphernalia.
Southaven Police said they believe the standoff and the shooting in Horn Lake are not related.
