Six Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA) routes will be eliminated, while 17 other routes will be impacted.
The transportation company said the changes are necessary to increase savings and efficiency for the system.
The changes are expected to go into effect on Aug. 25.
But before it is set in stone, MATA wants feedback from the public. There are two planned meetings on July 23 (Ed Rice Community Center) and July 25 (Airways Transit Center) to give customers a chance to comment on the proposed changes (http://www.matatransit.com/newsandalerts/public-meetings/).
MATA staff will be available to share information and answer questions.
MATA's Board of Commissioners will review and consider the comments and address the service changes at the Aug. 5 board meeting. If approved, the proposed service changes will be effective around Aug. 25.
If you are unable to attend the two meetings, written comments can be submitted until 5 p.m. on Friday, July 26 and can be mailed to 1370 Levee Road, Memphis Tenn., 38103; e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org; or faxed to 901-722-7123.
